This will be kind of temporary though. As you can see we, have studs up, bare cement walls and cold floors. We are in the process of finishing the basement and currently waiting on the electrical to happen. I envision a lot of shelving and painted walls.
I hung a few of my paintings on the wall to help inspire me to do more paintings. The one on the far right is the first one I did sophmore year in high school, about 14 years ago. Wow, really ... did I just say that? The one next to it is the last one I worked on, probably seven years ago. The older I get, the faster time seems to move. I better start using the talents God gave me! I have a project to work on for one of my friends, so that will really help motivate me to paint.
Here's the view from the other direction. See all the wonderful organization...
This hutch belonged to my Grandma. She gave it to me when they moved out of their house and into an apartment. Grandma was a painter and all-around crafter so this hutch has some sentimental value to me. She painted up until arthritis got the best of her hands. She does a lot of sewing now with the programmable sewing machine. Grandma always seems to be busy with something — I think I take after her in that aspect — and we are both lefties.
Looks great! I so love the hutch!
OK, I JUST organized my new workspace this weekend too!!! ... AND I totally take after my grandmother in all her tastes and style ... AND I'm a lefty too!!!! Soooo weird, Amy!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the hutch ... your cameras found a perfect home:-)
Such an accomplishment, Amy! I bet you are a ton more productive now (as if you aren't already). For me, a messy room is like a handicap on my projects. What a great little space. Love the hutch, too!
Oh I remember that painting from high school! I'm so happy that you are feeling content about your design room. It does look nicely organized and ready for creativity to flow. I'm sure there will be many awesome things that come out of that room! I love the hutch too, it has a great story behind it. It's kind of funny, I feel the same way about my Gma. (we're not both lefty's though) :)
Oh that is cool. I wish I had my own artsy area. I love to see other people's work spaces, I find it very interesting for some reason.
Thanks, ladies! You're the best!
Dina - I'm pretty sure great minds think alike. :o)
Christy - I'm the same way. I love to look at other people's spaces. Sometimes I'll even bookmark them and think about how I can make it work for me.
I'm soo happy to see you finally have a work space! I love it! I know you have been wanting one for a long time now. In fact, I remember being at your dads years ago and you showed me some of your art work and you mentioned how you couldn't wait to have a place so you could start painting again. So, now that u have one ill be looking forward to having my very own painting of yours to hang on my wall! ;)
