This weekend is pretty low-key for me, and it feels great. I get tired of the rush-rush need to do this and that. Before I know it, the weekend is over, and I'm back at work. This weekend is welcomed. Today, I went to an antique mall and browsed for three hours. These are my finds.
I'm always on the lookout for fun type blocks. F is the start of my last name if you didn't know.
The ceramic bottle on the left I purchased some time ago at a Goodwill store. I was lucky enough to find the perfect match for it today - the white one on the right. Now I need one more to make the set complete – something smaller though.
I don't own too many thermoses. I'm very particular about the look of them. This one is in great condition and the price was just right.
Finally!! I found top No. 3 to complete my set. Hmm, maybe I'll go for five. It's one I've seen all over etsy and ebay but wasn't willing to pay $15 for it. I got this one half off. Score! The other two tops are here and here. I love vintage toys. The graphics are fun and I'm drawn to the materials they're made out of, instead of the plastic toys nowadays. I don't have kids, but when I do, they will have a kick-ass decorated room. The item on the right is a balloon pump.
Is this not the cutest clock? I remember one from my childhood. I'm sure that's also why I'm drawn to these toys. I'm very happy with my finds today. Happy Saturday!
Yesterday evening I drove out to the small town of Spivey, Kan. to pick up a box of vintage cameras. These are my favorites out of the box. There are about 10 more that I got but they are 80's models and not as cool (yet). I was so ecstatic to come across these items. The price was incredibly low, and I couldn't say no. One of the movie cameras still had film in it. I wouldn't even know where to start to get that processed. I put batteries in it, turned it on and it works like a charm — sounds pretty sweet too. I have quite the camera collection going now, I just need to figure out how to display them all.
Wooden blocks were a favorite of mine as a kid. Being a graphic designer I'm drawn to the letter form, especially in letterpress wood type.
Vintage butter dish. I'm not sure if this went in something based on the shape of the bottom plate, maybe in a fridge, but I like graphic and color of it.
Another camera to add to my collection. A Kodak Instamatic 314, introduced from 1968 to 1971.
This is my second find of a Polaroid Land Camera SX-70. This one came with the flash pictured and a flash bar with four bulbs. This one is in better condition than my other one. Plus the price was right so I couldn't say no.
Lil dump truck with the metal bed. Jake has several of the large ones from his childhood. I wanted to add to the collection. When my nephew comes over, these are what he wants to play with.
I always check out fabrics when I'm at estate sales, and usually I'm not impressed. I finally found some fabric I liked. I really like the color, one of my favorites, and the fun print on the top fabric.
This suitcase was a little more than what I wanted to pay, especially considering it has some water damage on the outside, but I didn't want to walk out of the store without it. The inside is in great condition except for the overwhelming smell of oldness. I'm letting this air out before I display it in my living room.
This is a random find, not vintage. I came across this shirt at Target while looking for some clothes for my niece. This may sound weird to some, but I bought it for no other purpose but for me to have it. I love, love, love the graphic on it. It's a size 3/4 and I don't know of a girl that size.
Speaking of Target, my absolute favorite place to shop, I scored this bag for $8. Just couldn't pass it up.
Lastly, I found this large brimmed polka dot hat at an antique store and immediately thought of my niece. She goes to the beach quite often (she lives in S.C.) and thought it would be perfect for her. Plus I want to take pictures of her in it.
Whew, that was a lot of random stuff. I hope you enjoyed my finds as much as I did finding them!
Here is part 2 of yesterday's post on recent finds.
I haven't bought (or found) a camera for my collection in awhile. I was very happy to stumble upon this Polaroid One Step Land Camera.
Then I found this Kodak Instamatic 104. I love the way it looks. I've seen this model several times before but the price was too high for me.
Seven-piece vintage mugs with four different flower colors; blue, orange, green and yellow. I thought these would go great in someone's kitchen. The mug shape is really fun. I'll be listing these items for resale soon.
This little guy is less than 2 1/2 inches. I bought this for my aunt. I think it'll go perfectly in her house.
I've thought about painting our bedroom for over a year now. I know exactly what I want to do, I just need to find the right colors. This piece is a start in the right direction. Baby steps.
Aren't these little owls the cutest? I felt they needed a post of their own. I found them at an estate sale last week. Have a happy Friday!

Vintage tin toaster. I think this is adorable! I found this at a DAV store. It pairs nicely with my spinning tops.
Not sure if this is vintage, but a great find for my living room.
Juice carafe with two matching juice glasses + 2 similar orange glasses. Occasionally, I purchase something to list on here in case others want it. This is one of them. If your interested, drop me a line.
Teal vintage suitcase
Random glass jars. I have crafty plans for these.
I've started collecting these recently, but it takes awhile to build up the collection. There are so many vintage lanterns out there but way over-priced if you ask me. I got a excellent deal on this and the color couldn't be better. It's in excellent condition with a little clean up.

Tin sign to go in the laundry room, obviously.
My first Frankoma piece. Luckily Michelle decided not to get it, so I snagged it.
My favorite find of the day, three small glass tumblers. I'm drawn to the pattern and texture of the leaves, and I love the colors.
A fun top I found to go with my other fun top. Now I would like one more or three more — I prefer odd numbers. I found one online I liked and bought last week, but they refunded my money yesterday. Apparently, they already had it sold. So the search continues.
I found these three glass containers at the vintage shops I visit regularly. Since I found the cheap wine jug the previous week, I wanted some items to go with it. Below is the current set.
I would like one more for my odd five. I'd prefer one with some yellow in it, or maybe just a graphic.
My last purchase of the week is this vintage thermos. It's it great condition, the colors match my kitchen and I really like the pattern on it. All in all, a good week.
