My first maternity shoot

My poor blog has been neglected as of late. I started a new job about a month ago and have been super busy with life. I'm ready to jump back into it though. I have so many food recipes waiting for me to blog about. This is going to be a busy week on here!

My friends Carrie and Dave were in town visiting and asked if I would shoot some maternity shots of her - of course I said yes. She's 31 weeks pregnant and it was super humid out, but we had a great time on the shoot. These are my favorites from the day.

The Cook kids

It's that time of year again when kids start showing up on my blog. This is my first shoot of the season. They may look familiar to you from last year. Karis was just 9 days old when she met my camera, followed by Collin and the oldest brother Colden. Such sweet kids. This shoot was mainly for Karis since she's grown so much since September.

Baby Emma and family

Back in May, I took some pictures of baby Emma. Her mom Tricia asked if I could shoot another round this past month and some family ones as well. We hung out at the park for awhile and had some fun. One of the many things I love about photographing little ones is how much they grow and change in just a short amount of time. I love being around kids especially since we don't have any of our own yet.

Experimented with a few TtV shots.

Baby Karis

Little Benners

Recently I visited my friend Lacey and her son Ben. You may recognize him from a previous post, Cute baby alert! I started to wonder, at what age or milestone do you start calling a baby a kid/child? Maybe when they start walking? I think of Ben as a kid now instead of a baby. Is it too soon? Almost three months ago I took photos of him and wow how he's grown since then. He's a fast walker and his exploration with toys is so fun to watch. I think that's one reason I love photographs so much. Living in the day to day and don't notice things growing around you (as much), but looking back on photos you can see so much change.

I love the way the light hits his ears.
