This week the theme is DIY party decor. Pam and I created these beautiful poms for her daughter's birthday party. Each one takes time and effort but the results are worth it. (I wish I had some white poms at my wedding).
Expect to spend 2-3 hours on each pom including cutting out the fabric, folding and the gluing process. We found the original tutorial at Once Wed.
Instead of Chinese lanterns as our base, we used styrofoam balls of varying sizes. I would say at least two yards of fabric per pom. It's much faster if you quadruple up the fabric so you are cutting several layers of circles at a time (however many layers your scissors can take). To attach the hanging ribbon to the pom we used ball head pins. Here are the poms we created.
I linked up at my3boybarians for Sweet Shot Tuesday.
That first shot is just beautiful! How fun!
The photo is gorgeous but I love all the of the pom poms. Great job!
