The Resistance - Muse

I'm starting this beautiful Friday morning with Muse concert pictures. Jake and I went to the Ford Center in OKC a few weeks ago to see one of our favorite bands. This is the second time we've seen Muse. The first time was four years ago in Kansas City at the Uptown Theatre — one of the best places to see a concert. Muse puts on a killer show no matter where they play. I think Muse is a very talented group. They bring such a powerful sound in a style different from the rest.
I wasn't sure what to think of these pillars at first. I was hoping they wouldn't stay there, because my view wasn't looking so good. Then I noticed a person walking in the dark area of the pillar.

And then the curtain dropped to reveal this! An even better view.

The platforms lowered and raised several times during the show.

Matthew Bellamy in his shiny silver suit.

The piano came out to play.

Experimenting with light.

Bellamy's one of a kind piano.

The end. I usually record a few songs on my Flip, but I forgot to bring it. I know ... I couldn't believe it either.

Concert venture to OKC

Saturday, Aunt Sherry and I drove to Oklahoma City to see Casting Crowns and Kutless. The drive was so quick. Maybe because we watched The Office on DVD most of the way. It's the episode where Michael hit Meredith with his car and they walked/caught a cab/shopped an estate sale/ran a charity 5K race (not 5,000 miles Michael) to raise awareness for rabies. And Dwight put Sprinkles in the freezer. Any who, the concert was a lot of fun and quite uplifting. It doesn't get much better than singing praise to God with hundreds of people all evening.
The first group was Caleb Rowden. Two guys playing acoustic. I really dug his voice. I'll have to check out his music now.
Next up was Kutless. I'm not real familiar with their music, but I recognized some songs; great performance none the less.
World Vision sponsors the tour. Such a dedicated organization to stand behind. Check out what they are doing all over the world and you can help by sponsoring a child.

Jeremy Camp concert

On Thursday I went to the Jeremy Camp concert with my sister-in-law Jen and my Aunt Sherry. It was powerful to say the least. Four bands total and all were amazing. Here are some captures from that night.

Happy New Year 2010

New Years Eve — Jake and I traveled to OKC to see the Flaming Lips. 2,010 balloons waiting to be released in the stands. This was our second New Years Eve with the Flaming Lips. We went two years ago and had a good time, so we decided to go again.

Lead singer Wayne Coyne doing his signature 'I'm in a bubble' crowd surf.

Lots of confetti and lights.

Using the camera mic.

and the countdown begins...

Happy New Year, and all 2,010 balloons are free!

Covering Dark Side of the Moon. I'm sure you could guess the song to the background.

Wayne standing in the middle with ginormus gloves on. Shooting out are green lasers which are reflecting on the half-mirror ball above him. (If you couldn't tell what was going on).

Out past our bedtime, but it was worth it.
