Using the fondant from the previous post, I made a standard yellow cake and decorated it for my aunt's graduation party over the weekend. I wanted her to have a cake that was really fun instead of the congrats graduate flat version.
I trimmed the cake layers and cut out foam board to place underneath each layer. It gave the cake extra support and it made cake cutting so easy.

First I covered the cake in buttercream frosting so the fondant would stick.

I love the smooth surface. There are several steps I left out from here to the next picture. I was more worried about completing the cake than taking anymore pictures. The following morning though I was ready to take pictures of the final product. :o)

you make it look so easy making fondant cakes! I have made my share of them... and I am completely self taught and mine just never turn out as goreous as yours! :D
