One day I'll be ahead of the game and post several days before a holiday instead of the day or days after. I made sugar cookies on Thursday and decorated them on Saturday. I enjoyed making them, it's just very time consuming. I realize I do this to myself. I'm often a perfectionist, working on something until it's exactly how I envisioned it, and decorating sugar cookies is no exception. Also, it didn't help matters that I used eight different cookie cutters. I used the tried and true cookie recipe from the baby shower. I doubled the recipe and made enough for Easter lunch with the family, my work, my husband's work and a few to handout to spread the Easter cheer.

i love the marbled tulips and the chicks in eggs..too cute!
oh my goodness, Amy! You must have been exhausted! These look so fabulous, you have great hand skills....and patience! Seriously, these are very impressive.
OK you could sooo give Connie's and Cheri's a run for their money! If your career in GD doesn't pan out... can we say BAKERY!!! These are amazing, Amy. I may have to contact you before Sawyer's birthday:-)

Beautiful photos!! Oh my goodness... the cookies are so cute! They are all so pretty! May I ask, how did you get a nice thicker outline and the smooth inside? I would love to give that a try. We love making and decorating cookies for Easter and Christmas! :)
Thanks everyone. Yes, I was quite exhausted after I finished.
Jennifer - the trick is to use a fairly thick outline, but easy enough to pipe. And make sure to let it dry before the next step. For the smooth inside - I thinned the icing with a bit of water. Make sure to add a tiny bit of water and stir well and keep adding until consistency is right. (A little water goes a long way). I used a paring knife to apply. Feel free to ask me anything!
wow those are beautiful!!!
These are amazing! (the cookies, and the pictures :))
